Last week: The President created quite an uproar when he referred to the current impeachment investigations in the House of Representatives as a “lynching.” However, much of the criticism reeks of hypocrisy. Joe Biden condemned him forgetting that he too had used the same term defending Bill Clinton. So did Members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Sen. Kamala Harris, who also attacked Trump, used the word when she called the Chicago attack on actor Jussie Smollett an “attempted modern day lynching.” Lynching is despicable. So is the selective criticism of those who use the word based on their politics.
