Last week: Gov. Ron DeSantis’ great record on black appointees to his young administration—more than any of his predecessors! Speaking at the predominantly black First Baptist Church Piney Grove on Martin Luther King Day in predominantly black Lauderdale Lakes, he proudly referred to the appointments of blacks to head the Department of Economic Opportunity, Enterprise Florida, the Department of Juvenile Justice and the first black sheriff in Broward County history. He also has rescinded the suspension of Brenda Snipes. But don’t expect him to get any credit–he is a Republican and supports vouchers to assist poor students’ education!
