The story of the year was the Feb. 14 “Valentine’s Day Massacre” at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland where a deranged former student, Nickolas Cruz, calculatingly executed 17 human beings–including 14 students–in cold blood! It was the worst and deadliest high school shooting in American history exceeded the killings in Columbine High School in 1999. The tragedy was made even worse because, according to the draft report of the State Commission investigating the massacre, of failures and confusion by multiple law enforcement officers, the school and School District itself. More need be held accountable?
